After a fresh start on Tanybwlch beach, scouts and explorers set off south this year towards Aberaeron. Where we started with a grey drizzly morning in Aber, we ended up eating honeycomb ice cream in sunshine at Aber.
This year was slightly different because our cubs and beavers (plus parents) joined us at Llanrhystyd to walk to Aberaeron. Since there was daylight left as well as a bit left ‘in the tank’ our explorers pushed on and finished in New Quay.  A total of 24 miles (38 km) ! and not …

Heil og sael!
It’s been over a week since our Cubs Viking camp at the log cabin and we’ve just about recovered from the excitement of it all – although the tents haven’t, they’re taking forever to dry out! It sounds like everyone had  a blast and we really appreciate the positive feedback coming through on Facebook. Everyone’s already suggesting themes for next time!

This years’ Keith Jones Challenge was held on the Sunday 11th of September, when scouts and explorers walked from Machynlleth back to Aberystwyth: A total distance of 34 km through woodlands, a bog and finally along the cliffs. All of us walked it in 9~10 hours, with the late summer sun beating down on us – a great day and a great achievement for everyone taking part. To celebrate 100 years of the cub-section, the Ceredigion area organised a brilliant camp, once again held at the Gellie site near Synodd Inn. There were lots of activities, such as archery, air rifle shooting, sports, games, crafts and even a disco. On the Saturday night we lit a load of torches that spelt out “100” and we were filmed by a drone! On the Sunday we packed up again but before we closed the camp we all first did an assault course and had to run through the mud. …
